A fastener comprises a flexible central portion a part of which or a tongue 5 connected directly or indirectly to one end is formed with ratchet teeth 14 on two opposed faces, the other end of the central portion being connected to a buckle 4 which includes a U- shaped channel which is open at both ends and is formed only -of a web and two flanges; two opposed faces of the flanges being provided with -ratchet teeth 13 which co-operate with the first mentioned teeth to hold the: fastener around a tube. In a first construction Fig. 1 the tongue 5 is connected to one side of a socket 1 and the central portion extends 'from the other side of the socket; the socket is provided with a hole which can be screwthreaded if desired for securing the fastener to a support. In a modification the central portion is provided with a longitudinal slot throughout its length. In the embodiment shown in Fig. 8 the socket is omitted and the 'tongue 5 is connected to one end of the central portion. In a third construction Fig. 12 the sides of the control portion itself are provided with the ratchet teeth 14 and the channel in the buckle is arranged so that the part of the central portion in the buckle 'extends substantially tangentially. |
