An ester based lubricant composition comprises a minor proportion each of a phenothiazine derivative and a substituted triazine. Preferred compositions include N-benzyl-3,7- dioctylphenothiazine with: 2 - azido - 4 - ethylamino - 6 - t - butylamino - 1,3,5 - triazine, 2,4 - di - n - butyl - amino - 6 - anilino- 1,3,5 - triazine, 2 - amino - 4 - butyl - amino - 6 - phenyl- 1,3,5 - triazine, 2 - amino - 4,6 - dianilino - 1,3,5 - triazine, 3 - amino - 5,6 - diphenyl, 1,3,5 - triazine, 2 - benzylamino - 4,6 - dianilino - 1,3,5- triazine, 2 - anilino - 4,6 - bis - (ethylamino) - 1,3,5- triazine, or 2 - amino - 4 - anilino - 6 - benzylamine- 1,3,5 - triazine. The ester base may be a simple, complex or polyester and which may contain conventional thickeners, E.P. additives, additional antioxidants, anticorrosion agents, antifoaming agents and dyestuffs. The base fluid used in the examples was a mixture of pentaerythritol esters. |
