PURPOSE:To enhance sensitivity, to reduce residual potential, and to elevate durability at the time of repeated uses by forming a photosensitive layer contg. an azo pigment represented by a specified formula on a conductive substrate to obtain an electrophotographic sensitive body. CONSTITUTION:The electrophotographic sensitive body is obtained by coating and drying the conductive substrate 1 with a coating fluid prepared by dissolving or dispersing in a proper solvent an azo pigment represented by the formula shown there (X is H, halogen, or nitrile, R is H, 1-4C alkyl, or phenyl, R' is H, aryl, 1-8C alkyl, or benzyl, and Cp is a coupler residue) to form the photosensitive layer having a film thickness of, generally, 0.1- several 10mum. As the medium for preparing the coating fluid, basic solvents, such as n- butylamine and ethylenediamine, and ethers, such as tetrahydrofuran, are enumerated. |
