PURPOSE:To make up a two-cycle engine of a high scavenging efficiency throughout all engine operation, by furnishing a throttling device to throttle the flow to increase the flow rate more as the load is lower, at the way of scavenging passage installed opposite to the exhaust port from the center of the cylinder. CONSTITUTION:As wall as an auxiliary scavenging passage 26 is furnished at the opposite side of the exhaust port 25 in a cylinder 7 of a two-cycle engine, the main scavenging passage 27 is furnished between the auxiliary scavenging passage 26 and the exhaust port 27. At the position of the scavenging port of the auxiliary scavenging passage 26, a valve 30b is installed to be variable from on to of. In a low rotation engine operation, the valve 30b is closed by an activator 29 linked with a throttle valve 24, narrowing the scavenging passage 26 to decrease the scavenging flow, and the scavenging flow around the cylinder head is regulated properly by the decreased flow. In a high rotation operation, the scavenging flow rate around the cylinder head is increased with a shorter time of a cycle, by opening the valve 30b to increase the scavenging flow. |
