PURPOSE:To obtain the titled catalyst having high selectivity to lower olefins and forming a small amt. of lower paraffins by forming the catalyst for synthesizing lower olefins with a material consisting essentially of a priderite type compd. expressed by a specified formula. CONSTITUTION:A catalyst precursor consisting essentially of a priderite type compd. expressed by formula I (where, X is 1.4-2.6) is reduced in a hydrogen atmosphere to obtain an activated catalyst. For example, K2(Fe2Ti6)O16 synthesized from materials of K2CO3, Fe2O3, TiO2, etc. is heat-treated at about 500 deg.C for about 15hr in a gaseous hydrogen stream at the flow rate of about 100ml/min to obtain the activated catalyst capable of converting a synthesis gas. Besides, carbon monoxide and a synthesis gas in 0.1-10 ratio of CO/H2 can be used as the reducing gas other than hydrogen. |
