PURPOSE:To improve the transfer capacity and the fixability by using two pressuring rolls or heat pressuring rolls at least for pressing a toner image on an image carrier to a transfer material to disperse the pressing force. CONSTITUTION:A transfer material 14 is inserted between an image carrier 1 and the fist transfer and fixing roll 4 and is carried in this state to transfer and fix the toner image on the image carrier 1 to the transfer material 14 by the pressing force. Next, the transfer material 14 is inserted between the image carrier 1 and the second transfer and fixing roll 5, and transfer and fixing are performed similarly, and the transfer material 14 is ejected. Since the pressing force is dispersed to transfer and fixing rolls 4 and 5, this pressing force can be set to a considerably smaller value in comparison with the case of a single roll, and the rigidity of rolls and roll supporting bodies can be reduced. Since transfer and fixing are performed divisionally in plural times, the transfer capacity and the fixability are improved in comparison with the case of a single roll. |
