The invention relates to an apparatus for recovering the heat content of melted products, namely metals or slags, occurring in liquid form during melting processes under process pressure and drawn off from the process reactor by way of tapping orifices, the melted products being diverted into a reception chamber, being cooled in the reception chamber and thereafter being discharged from the reception chamber. To make such an apparatus more efficient, along with a simple construction, the reception chamber is closed, with the exception of the melted-product feed orifices and the discharge valve to be opened, and closed heat-resistant and pressure-resistant cooling elements project into the reception chamber. <IMAGE>
