PURPOSE:To provide a tonality for picture elements by regulating the density of colorant to be transferred to an object to be transferred by using a transfer material having a colorant and a transfer rate regulator to transfer a colorant to an object transferred in a lapping manner. CONSTITUTION:In case where only a colorant 3a is transferred, without transferring a transfer rate regulator 3b, a picture transferred with the colorant 3a uniformly is formed on a paper 2, as shown in (a). In case where the regulator 3b is transferred to the paper 2 and then the colorant 3a is transferred in a lapping manner, however, the colorant 3a is hardly transferred to the portions where the regulator 3b is transferred on the paper 2, as shown in (b), forming pictures of slightly lowered densities. When more regulator 3b is further transferred to the paper 2, pictures having lower density are formed, as shown in (c). Plural tonal displays can thus be obtained by using the regulator 3b. |
