PURPOSE:To make possible reading of the accurate time for the user by detecting the stop of the time display operation of the hand mechanism when it occurs and performing time displaying with an optical display device in place of the hands. CONSTITUTION:While a wheel train mechanism 6 is being driven and the hands are making time displaying normally, the reset signal is applied to a counter 8 at each 1 minute and therefore no carry signal is outputted and an FF 10 is not set, hence the alarm time is displayed in a displayed in a digital display part 7a. When the voltage of a battery drops or the hands stop owing to a trouble in the wheel train mechanism 6, the carry signal from the counter 8 is outputted and therefore the FF 10 is set and the time information of a time measuring counter circuit 9 is automatically display in the digital display part 7a in place of the hands, thus the correct reading of the time may be accomplished even when the hands stop and the operation stop of the hand mechanism may be known. |
