The invention relates to a process for the continuous production of mouldings, in particular slabs, from a mixture of gypsum and fibre material. In a first mixing process, a metered amount of gypsum and fibre material is intimately mixed together, after which the mass of the dry gypsum/fibre material mixture is measured. The dry gypsum/fibre material mixture is moistened in a second mixing process with the metered addition of water corresponding to the measured mass of mixture. The moistened mixture is scattered on a substrate to form mouldings, after which the surfaces of the moulding are post-moistened and the moulding subsequently compacted. According to the invention, in order to obtain higher strengths, it is provided to subdivide the mass flow into partial mass flows separate from one another and to scatter the moulding in a plurality of layers, each partial mass flow forming a layer of the moulding. Each deposited layer is post-moistened with water, the total amount of the water added to a moulding being for example up to 25% above the stoichiometric quantity of water for setting the gypsum/fibre material mixture. |
