<p>An apparatus and method for purifying sand particularly suitable for the manufacture of glass, using opposite jets of slurry containing the impure sand, made to collide with one another at high speed to cause collision of the suspended particles and removal of the impurities adhering to them due to reciprocal attrition, inside a vessel in which the slurry is circulated and from which a flow is extracted containing the purified sand and the impurities, which are sent to a silting operation.</p> |
