The invention describes a dental model whose base is pre-fabricated from a curable material in a base former, the dental stump being integrally formed on this base only after a predetermined curing time of the base has elapsed. Due to the fact that the base and the dental stump are made at different times, the production time for the dental model in the dental laboratory is shortened and, in addition, the accuracy of the dental impression is improved because the modelling composition curable in the impression has a smaller volume.
