摘要 The invention relates to a method for the control of the inking of printed products by means of densitometric detection of the inking density in measurement fields, assigned to the printing zones, of a print monitoring strip which is printed onto each printed product and has over its length at least one quality diagnosis field with a full-tone field and at least one matrix field of a known surface area, and by converting the difference between the actual value and set value into an adjustment of the ink metering device. In this process, the control takes place in the printing zone assigned to the quality diagnosis field, in accordance with the control variable for surface area or in accordance with the auxiliary control variable for full-tone density or matrix density, and in all the other printing zones in accordance with the auxiliary control variable whose set value is calculated from the measured values of the quality diagnosis field in that the measured control deviation ( DELTA FD) of the surface area is converted from the empirically determined ratio (SV or SR) between a change ( DELTA FD) in surface area and change ( DELTA DV) in density into a deviation ( DELTA DV or DELTA DR) of the density and is subtracted from the actual density of the full-tone field or matrix field ( DELTA DV or DR) of the quality diagnosis field.
