Manufacture of curved glass sheets.. M6A. having at least one end more highly bent than the central portion, are manufactured by a pressing-bending process in which the heated sheet is shaped by pressing between two dies; in the case of divergences from the desired shape due to a temperature difference at the ends the sheets are bent between the dies in a slightly staggered position, with respect to their normal position, in the direction of the colder end. Device for positioning the glass sheet before bending whilst it is suspended by pinces and maintained between the dies of a bending press, comprises a fork fixed by a hinge to one of the dies so that it can take hold of, and guide, one of the suspending pinces during the closing movement of the two dies; the fork is fixed to the die in an adjustable position parallel to the upper edge of the space between the dies. After adjustment with a butterfly head the fork is lowered on its hinge.
|
