The invention relates to a process for irradiating, at a low level, a linear ethene/α-olefin copolymer having a narrow molecular weight distribution and a low density, which radiation level is sufficient to produce crosslinkages in the copolymer but insufficient to lead to noticeable gel formation, each process improves the rheology of the copolymer which has been treated in this way and results in excellent film-producing properties. The invention also relates to the copolymers which are obtained in accordance with the process and to mixtures of these copolymers with non-crosslinked ethene/α- olefin copolymers.
