PURPOSE:To make it possible to detect leakage within a short time by simply observing leakage even from a remote place with high visual sensitivity by a small apparatus, by intermittently irradiating the surface of a test body, which is filled with a test solution containing a fluorescent 2-30 times per sec with ultraviolet rays. CONSTITUTION:A test body is filled with a test solution prepared by suspending a minute amount of a fluorescent substance in water, oil or the liquid used in the test body and the testing solution is pressurized. The surface of the test body is observed while intermittently irradiated 2-30 times, pref., 5-10 times per one sec with ultraviolet rays from an ultraviolet irradiation apparatus using a xenon stroboscopic lamp with a filter. By this mechanism, the apparatus can be made small, portable and convenient and complicated piping or a large pressure container can be tested simply and even minute leakage can be easily detected. |
