PURPOSE:To prevent printing noise through the stroking action of an eccentric roller on a type by providing a mechanism to selectively bring a type to a standstill at a printing position and a mechanism with an eccentric roller to narrow the clearance among a type, a ribbon and paper and slide a type over a ribbon tightly to transfer characters to paper. CONSTITUTION:If an eccentric roller 5 partially rotates to narrow the clearance between a type wheel 3 and paper 6, the eccentric roller 5 forcefully applies paper 6 to the type wheel 3 through an ink ribbon drawn out a ribbon cartridge 7. As a result, characters are transferred to the paper 6. After this process, the eccentric roller 5 returns to its original position resulting in the movement of a carriage 1 to a next printing position. A propelling force for the movement is transmitted to the carriage 1 from a spacing motor through a spacing wire, etc. The type wheel 3 has plural types arranged in the external circumference of a cylinder, and a required type is positioned at a position opposed to the eccentric roller 5 by a type selecting motor. |
