PURPOSE:To improve pouring speed, run, casting plan and yield and to produce castings having less internal defects with high efficiency by providing cavities, risers and runners to the side faces of opposed casting molds, interposing stoppers between the risers and pouring basin. CONSTITUTION:The cavities 3, risers 5 and the pouring basin 7 are provided to the side faces of the opposed casting molds 1. The stoppers 8a are interposed between the risers 5 and the basin 7. The molten metal in the basin 7 is poured at the high pouring speed with good run into the cavities 3 when the stoppers 8a are opened. There are no sprues, runners and gates and casting plan and yield are remarkably improved. The rise of scum is made easy and the internal defects of the castings are decreased. The good castings are thus produced with high efficiency at a low cost. |
