PURPOSE:To extend an exposure range, to increase the graininess and sharpeness, and to improve a sensitivity-fog relation by incorporating specified silver halide (AgX) particles. CONSTITUTION:A photographic emulsion contg. AgX particles having crystal faces each having a central ridge 3 on a (110) face 1 and/or (110) faces 1 and a core/shell structure is used to manufacture a photosensitive Agx material. The AgX composition of the particles is silver iodobromide. When the photosensitive AgX material contg. said AgX particles is used, the sensitivity-fog relation is improved, the exposure range can be extended, and the graininess and sharpness can be increased.
