<p>PURPOSE:To have effective suppression of knockings, which should occur in an engine equipped with a by-pass for shunting the blower of a supercharger, by furnishing a control device to reduce the supercharge pressure by means of opening the by-pass when such occurrence of knocking is sensed. CONSTITUTION:During the engine being in operation, a control device 22 calculaters the basic opening of a by-pass control valve 18 on a by-pass 17 line for shunting the blower 8a of a supercharger 8 in accordance with the degree of opening of a throttle valve 14 to be sensed by a throttle position sensor 24. Then a ssolenoid valve 21 is regulated on the basis of this basic degree of opening to control opening/closing of said by-pass control valve 18 through a neg. pressure actuator 19, and the degree of opening of this valve 18 is fedback controlled according to the output of a by-pass position sensor 25. If occurrence of knocking is sensed from the output of a knocking sensor 23, the by-pass control valve 18 is opened to a certain level to sink the super charge pressure. Thus knockings are suppressed.</p> |
