PURPOSE:To reduce the frequencies of gas engine running and stopping by making it possible to decide automatically the set value of generating power on the basis of the volume of gases generated from a digestion tank and the volume of gases reserved in a gas tank, in a power generating system making use of sludge digestion gases in sewage treatment facilities. CONSTITUTION:Gases generated from a digestion tank 3 are pressurized by a compressor 4 and reserved in a gas tank 5. The digestion gases in the tank 5 are employed to run a gas engine 1 of spark ignition type, thereby running a generator 2. The output control of the gas engine 1 is done in such a way that an output from a generating power setting device 11 or an operation control device 20, which automatically sets a generating power, is selected by a changeover switch 22 and a fuel valve 6 is controlled by a regulator 9 via a governor controller 8, according to a difference between the set value of the selected generating power and an actual generated power 16. The operation control device 20 is so constituted that it can set a generating power, according to the outputs of each detector 12, 13 and 21 of the flow amount, pressure and temperature of the digestion gases. |
