PURPOSE:To obtain clear images with continuous gradation and prevent a thermal transfer layer from being transferred to a thermal transfer recording layer, by a method wherein a coated layer of a dispersed liquid comprising a resin and water is provided on a base for a thermal transfer recording sheet, and is dried to provide a receiving layer. CONSTITUTION:The receiving layer of the thermal transfer recording sheet is provided by coating the base with a dispersed liquid comprising at least one resin and water, followed by drying. The receiving layer of the recording sheet is brought into contact with a thermal transfer layer of a thermal transfer sheet comprising a coloring material, and receives the coloring material transferred thereto by heating. Accordingly, a synthetic paper is prevented from being contaminated due to transfer of a dye in the thermal transfer recording sheet, and thermally transferred images are prevented from being disordered due to diffusion of the dye. |
