PURPOSE:To improve mass-productivity and suppress an increase of Barkhausen noise by providing a rear flux guide made of a high-magnetic-permeability magnetic thin film as part of a return circuit of reproducing magnetic flux on a substrate made of only a nonmagnetic body. CONSTITUTION:The reproducing magnetic flux generated by the magnetism 8 of a recording medium 7 is guided by a front flux guide 3 to a magneto- resistabce effect element 2 as shown an alternate long and short dash line 6, and then returned to a recording medium 7 through the rear flux guide 4 and a nonmagnetic body 1. The substrate 1 is made of only a nonmagnetic body and its dimension accuracy never affects the path of the reproducing magnetic flux, so the substrate need not be worked with high accuracy. Further, it is made larger than the film thickness, etc., of the film thickness front flux guide of the rear flux guide, and consequently an increase of Brakhausen noises is suppressed. |
