An air purifier which comprises a prepurifier of the cyclone type 5 comprising an air discharge orifice 51 and a main air purifier 6 comprising a casing 6a, one side wall of which is pierced with an air entry orifice 61 and a substantially cylindrical filter 8, 9 housed in a central position in this casing, while being coaxial with the vertical axis of the latter, the said air entry orifice 61 having a central axis offset laterally by a certain distance l in relation to the horizontal axis X-X of the casing 6a and being connected to the said air discharge orifice 51 of the prepurifier 5. This air purifier is intended especially to be employed in general purpose internal combustion engines such as those fitted to agricultural machines of the lawnmower or motor cultivator type. <IMAGE>
