发明名称 Verfahren zur Herstellung von Gittern für Batterieplatten
摘要 1,243,339. Battery plates. JOSEPH LUCAS (INDUSTRIES) Ltd. 18 Nov., 1968 [27 Nov., 1967], No. 53781/67. Heading B5A. [Also in Division H1] A battery plate grid is made by placing a conductive plate lug 16 having an integral extension 17 of lead in a mould containing an impression of the grid, filling the mould with particles of synthetic resin, such as polyvinyl chloride, heating without pressure to cause the particles to adhere to one another such that extension 17 is trapped by the resin, removing the grid from the mould and rendering the grid conductive, e.g. by coating with molten lead or lead alloy. The resin particles may be heated to such a temperature that entrapped air is driven off leaving the resin grid with a substantially non-porous inner region and a pitted surface, and the conductive coating then enters the indentations of the pitted surface. In a continuous process, Fig. 3, a conveyer 18 carrying aluminium moulds 19 each containing an impression of battery plate grids first pass through a filling station 21 where a lead member constituting a pair of interconnected battery plate lugs is inserted into each mould, the rest being filled with P.V.C. particles. The moulds pass through levelling station 23 and then to oven 24 maintained at 240‹ C. During heating the P.V.C. particles adhere to one another and entrapped air is driven off. The moulds are then cooled to 70‹ C. and then pass through brushing station 25 and to removing station 26. After coating with molten lead or lead alloy and then pasting with active material, the pair of grids are separated.
