PURPOSE:To obtain an economical copying device having always efficient sepa rating property and prevented from retransfer by executing the preparatory scanning of an original and detecting the picture area ratio of an original pre cisely and controlling the intensity of separation/destaticizing in accordance with the picture area ratio of the original. CONSTITUTION:Sensors are arranged on three positions 38a-38c in a range 30 where an optical system can be moved. The optical system starts to move from the stationary position 38a and scans the copy-enabled areas 38b-38c. Since the optical system is moved in the direction shown by arrows 31-34, the optical system detects (preparatory scanning 1) the mounting position of an original in the section 31-32, counts up (preparatory scanning 2) the number of black elements in the original mounting position in the section 33-34 and then outputs BRATE to a printer in accordance with the area. |
