Device allowing the handicapped to enter or leave the water of a swimming bath or pool, without help and without effort. It consists of a floating watertight box 1 of parallelepipedal shape, fitted with guide bars 4, sliding in vertical guide rails 9, fastened to the support case which rests on the bottom of the pool. This box has an orifice A in the top section and an orifice B in the bottom section. The top orifice, opened to the air by the tap 7, creates an air suction. The water surges into the box, weights it and makes it descend to the desired depth. Adjustable stops 11, fixed onto the rails, stop the box descending further. The box is raised by opening the tap 7 which supplies the interior of the box with compressed air, creating an internal pressure which is greater than that exerted by the water in the pool. The water contained in the box is then flushed through the bottom hole B, the box is made lighter and progressively rises to the surface, as far as the top position stops 12. The invention can be used for any person incapable of moving through his or her own actions. <IMAGE>
