System for rapidly removing the tarpaulin from a vehicle, especially from a trailer, acting by transverse deployment in order rapidly to clear the upper portion of the bed of the trailer by deployment of the sides of the latter, characterised in that it comprises: at least two panels 10, 12 articulated to the frame of the said trailer, one on either side of the longitudinal axis of the vehicle, so that the connection line 20 of the panels is situated along the said axis, each panel comprising a plurality of ribs 16, 16' and side panels 18, 18' covered by a tarpaulin; means 26, 28 for the locking and unlocking of the said panels articulated to one another, and means 30, 30' for deploying the articulated panels, after their unlocking, in order to ensure rapid removal of the tarpaulin. <IMAGE>
