摘要 PURPOSE:To enhance sensitivity and characteristics in repeated uses by using a perylene type dye having a specified average particle diameter represented by the formula. CONSTITUTION:The perylene dye to be used is represented by the formula and has an average particle diameter of 50-100nm. Said dye having such an average particle diameters can be obtained by treating the known perylene type dye with an org. solvent, such as xylene or dichlorobenzene, or dissolving the dye immediately after the preparation or the dye available in the market in a strong solvent, and precipitating in a nonsolvent, once converting the crystals into an amorphous state, and treating it in an org. solvent together with a grinding aid, such as porcelain balls. The addition of this perylene type dye dispersed into a binder resin for an electrophotographic sensitive body permits remarkably excellent sensitivity and superior characteristics in repeated uses for the Carlson process to be exhibited.
