PURPOSE:To markedly enlarge the transfer region of a transfer recording material by a relatively simple construction, by a method wherein a transfer material is fed in the feeding direction for printing in the process of separating guide rollers from a platen roller and again pressing the guide rollers against the platen roller. CONSTITUTION:The leading end side of a paper P fed by rotating the platen roller 5 is clamp by a pair of feeding rollers 19a, 19b rotated at a circumferential velocity higher than that of the roller 5 so as to feed the paper P, whereby flexure of the paper P is absorbed, and the printing region on the leading end side in the feeding direction for transfer is increased. In conjuction with the movement of a thermal head 10, the guide rollers 18b, 18c are driven to move along the moving direction of the head 10, and the paper P is separated from a thermal transfer paper R, whereby the printing region on the side of the feeding direction for transfer of the paper P is increased. |
