This appts. for audio or video record-playback equipment has return- back confirmation signal from the controlled equipment to the controller, to show given operation has been performed. The remote controller, which has an instructin deyboard for commanding the deck, operates the deck by means of an instruction wave output from the unit. The sent instruction wave is received at an input port of the deck and a confirmation wave is returned from the output port of the deck when the instruction is executed. The control unit receives the confirmation wave at an input port and actuates an indicator so that the user can see the command has been effected.
