发明名称 SUCTION DEVICE FOR ENGINE WITH PRESSURE WAVE SUPERCHARGER
摘要 PURPOSE:To prevent a suction noise from occurring, by specifying the length and area or suction passage bypassing a supercharger for a engine provided with a pressure wave-operated supercharger which installs an inlet and an outlet for exhaust at one side of a rotor forming a lot of partition walls and an inlet and an outlet for suction at the other side, respectively. CONSTITUTION:In this pressure wave supercharger 12 which installs a lot of partition walls in an axial direction, exhaust of an engine 10 is led into its one end with a pipe 24, and this exhaust enters out of an inlet 12C and dis charged to a pipe 25 from an outlet 12d. Suction air out of an air cleaner 11 is led into the other end from a pipe 13, entering from an inlet 12a, and super charged with pressure wave by means of exhaust pulsation, and discharged to a pipe 17 from an outlet 12b, then enters in an engine after being cooled by an intercooler 14. When the supercharger is nonoperational at engine low speed, a selector valve 19 opens a bypass passage 18. Length and area of the bypass passage are set up so as to be adjusted to 35-55m/sec in suction velocity and -150--350mm Hg in suction negative pressure in time of maximum engine speed during open of the bypass passage.
