摘要 PURPOSE:To reduce the leakage flux and save power consumption by arranging a gap of the magnetic circuit of an electromagnetic device on the outer periphery side of the solenoid coil of the electromagnetic device in an engine starter. CONSTITUTION:An engine starter has a pinion gear 4, a rotary shaft 1, and an electromagnetic extrusion mechanism 14. When a sliding core 14c is pushed backward by the energizing force of a return spring 13, a gap 14d is formed between the sliding core 14c and a side plate 11. When a solenoid coil 14a is excited, a closed magnetic field passing through a stationary core 14b, the side plate 11, gap 14d, and sliding core 14c is formed, and the gap 14d is reduced. A case 12 is made of a nonmagnetic material, and the leakage flux is rarely generated in the gap 14d. Accordingly, the electromagnetic extrusion mechanism can be made small-sized and lightweight, and power consumption can be saved.
