PURPOSE:To enable a rod seal to be made jointless and monolithic, by making uniform the diameter of the portion of a piston rod, which slides on the rod seal, and by providing the other upper portion with a diameter equal to or smaller than that of the former portion, and by using a bolt to secure a piston to the upper end of the piston rod downwards. CONSTITUTION:The lower portion of a cylinder is sealed by a rod seal 22 which is in sliding contact with a piston rod 18 over the joint of the piston rod and a connecting rod 17. The diameter of the entire portion of the piston rod 18, which slides on the rod seal 22, is made uniform. The diameter of the other portion of the piston rod, which is located over the former portion, is made equal to or smaller than that of the former portion. A piston 2 is secured to the upper end of the piston rod 18 by tightening a bolt 28 downwards. According to this constitution, the rod seal 22 can be made jointless and monolithic, and the assembly of the rod seal, the piston rod and the piston is facilitated. |
