PURPOSE:To provide the title member of which the average composition in the thickness direction of a thin information-recording film is represented by specified formulas and which is produced by a simple process, has favorable reproduction property and is stable for a long period of time. CONSTITUTION:An information-recording member comprising on a base a thin information-recording film which shows a change in arrangement of atoms when being irradiated with recording beams, wherein the average composition in the thickness direction of the thin film is represented by the formula, wherein 2.1<=X/Z<=9; 25<=Y<=95; 0<=alpha<=65; M is Sn, In, Ga or Pb; and A is Sb, Bi, Be, Mg, Ca, Sr, Ba, Al, Sc, Y, La, Ce, Pr, Nd, Pm, Sm, Eu, Gd, Tb, Dy, Ho, Ti, Zr, Hf, V, Nb, Ta, Cr, Mo, W, Mn, Tc, Re, Fe, Ru, Os, Co, Rh, Ir, Ni, Pd, Pt, Cu, Ag, Au, Zn, Cd, Tl, B, C, Si, Ge, N, P, As, O, S, F or H. |
