PURPOSE:To make it possible to transfer various kinds of plates having different widths, in a plate transfer device in a laser type automatic plate marking press, by laying movable guide plates on both sides of a conveyor belt such that they may be moved to and away from stationary guide plates. CONSTITUTION:In order to transfer a plate 63 having a narrowest width W1 the plate sections 67a, 70a of guide plates 67, 70 are positioned in conformity with the width W1 on both sides of a conveyor 60. In this condition, when shafts 65a, 66b are rotated in predetermined directions to separate the guide plates 67, 70 from the belt 60, the plate sections 68b, 71b of guide members 68, 71 stand by on both sides of conveyor belts 60, 61 for guiding a plate 63 having a width W2. Similarly, the guide member 68 is retracted to combine guide members 69, 71. Similarly, guide members 69, 72 are combined to allow plates having widths W3 through W5, including the combination of stationary side plates 323 which are set to have a largest width. With this arrangement various kinds of plates having different widths may be transferred. |
