AIR CYLINDER DEVICE FOR SUPPORTING AIR SEALING PIPE FOR CONTINUOUS CASTING

PURPOSE:To prevent the excessive pressing of an air sealing pipe to a collector nozzle by supporting the air sealing pipe to a supporting device by the supporting force meeting the timing for casting. CONSTITUTION:A pressure setter 15 of an air cylinder device which supports the air sealing pipe is constituted of a reference pressure generating unit 16 which generates three different pressures; the pressure before the start of casting, the initial pressure for casting and the pressure during casting, a reference pressure change-over unit 17 which selectes one reference pressure and a pressure generator 18 which exerts the reference pressure to each one air cylinder 14. The supporting force which balances with the own weight of the air sealing pipe and the dynamic pressure of the molten steel is therefore generated at the top end of the beam 5 of the supporting device for the air sealing device in the initial period of casting and the supporting force which balances with the own weight of the air sealing pipe and the frictional force by the viscosity of the molten steel is generated during casting. The supporting force which balances with the air sealing pipe is generated before the start of casting and after the end of casting, by which the air sealing pipe is supported.
