PURPOSE:To obtain a high efficiency lamp through voltage increase up to a lamp voltage which cannot ignite in a choke type stabilizer by presetting the composition of gas sealed within a lamp which given optimum efficiency to a high frequency ignition circuit. CONSTITUTION:A lamp is composed of a luminous internal bulb 1, an external bulb 2 and an electrode 3 and is excited by a high frequency ignition circuit device. This lamp is filled with the Ar gas 100% and a mixed gas changing a mixing ratio of neon up to a gas pressure of 2.5Torr. In this case, the sealing pressure P (Torr) of mixed gas is in the range of 1.5<=P<=6, a mixing ratio of neon (A%) is in the range of 10<=A<=50, and excitation frequency of lamp is set to 10KHz or more. |
