PURPOSE:To perform a highly precise judgment with no misjudgment by judging that the fuel being used is not the predetermined fuel if the occurrence time interval of knocking is short when the spark lag correction value is in the first judgment region. CONSTITUTION:A step S26 judges that the spark lag correction value is in the first judgment region, and the content C of a counter is added by '1'. If the time interval is short, it is judged that the used fuel is not the predetermined fuel. When the correction value is in the second judgment region, the process goes through a step 33 from the step 26, the counting of the counter is interrupted, and the content C of the counter is held as it is. Accordingly, the fuel judgment time is shortened, and a highly precise judgment can be performed with no misjudgment. |
