PROCESS FOR RECOVERY OF NON FERROUS METALS OF CONCENTRATES OF SULPHIDES POLYMETALLICS

The process for recovery of lead, copper, zinc, precious metals and other elements consists of (a) calcining the concentrate under oxidising conditions; (b) lixiviating part of the prod. under approx. neutral conditions; (c) introducing the remaining part into the iron pptn. stage to neutralise the free acid; (d) subjecting the residues from (b) and (c) to acid lixiviation to solubilise the copper and zinc ferrites; (e) removing copper from the soln. from (b) by solvent extraction and electrolysis, followed by (f) removing zinc by electrolysis; (g) recovery of lead and precious metals from the residue from (d) in which they are present in sulphated form by solubilising in chloride medium.
