PURPOSE:To chamfer an edge in an article to a condition forming roundness, by placing the workpiece article so as to bring its edge part into contact with a flexible lapping tape loaded on an elastic base material and pressing the workpiece article to be slided onto the lapping tape. CONSTITUTION:A side rail 10, 11 of a slider 4 is loaded on a lapping tape 15, 15 glued onto an elastic base material 14, 14. The slider 4, if it is pressed to the tape 15, 15, strongly presses to the tape 15, 15 only the portion of edges (e) surrounding a surface of the side rail 10, 11 opposed to the tape 15, while the slider 4,if it is slided on the tape 15, wears only the edge (e) to be chamfered by forming roundness. |
