PURPOSE:To provide the titled copolymer made up of specific proportion of ethylene, 2,4-diphenyl-4-methylpentene-1 and ethylenic unsaturated monomer units, having each specific density and melt index, suitable for electrical insulation and expansion materials, etc. CONSTITUTION:The objective copolymer with a density 0.860-0.970g/cm<3> and a melt index 0.05-100g/10min made up of (A) 85.0-99.995mol% of ethylene unit, (B) 0.005-5 (pref. 0.01-2) mol% of comonomer unit comprising 2,4- diphenyl-4-methylpentene-1 and (C) 0-10 (pref. 0-5) mol% of an ethylenic unsaturated monomer (e.g., ethyl acrylate) unit can preferably be obtained by high-pressure radical polymerization at 100-350 deg.C under a pressure of 1,000-3,500kg/cm<2>. USE:Also suitable as a polymer modifier. |
