<p>The cap is for a cylindrical sheet-metal can, allowing re-use. It has sides forming a rectangle (8), and with short beads (9) bent over inwards and parallel to its surface. These engage under spiral protrusions formed on the outside of an integral cylindrical neck on the topof the can which acts as a pouring spout. The spout can be formed by punching and bending from the can top, while the cap can be produced by deep-drawing and bending, and can be square and of thicker metal than the can.</p> |
