PURPOSE:To improve oscillation efficiency and obtain a stabilized preferable mode by pouring the laser medium gas into a discharge tube through an inlet which gives the gas a rotating motion and by providing a current forming plate in the tube inducing a spiral motion of the gas. CONSTITUTION:An inlet 2 is installed on the discharge tube 3 with some deviation from the center of cross section of the tube. In the tube a current forming plate 14 is installed in the direction along which the gas rotates. Laser medium gas 1 flows rotating into the discharge tube 3 and rotates spirally in the tube. Thus, in the tube, the laser medium gas 1 flows from the outside part 12 to the laser oscillation mode region 11 and contributes laser oscillation. As the mixing effect owing to the rotation of the laser medium gas 1, uniform pumping intensity, preferable oscillation mode, especially, stabilized single oscillation mode are obtained. The insulating materials such as ceramics and glass are used for the current forming plate 14. |
