PURPOSE:To decrease a distance between tools contained in a tool cassette so as to enable the many tools to be housed in a small space, by utilizing a pickup and a post when the tool is mounted to and removed from a spindle. CONSTITUTION:A device, moving a tool cassette 5 containing a tool 6 to the position of a pickup 8, holds the tool 6 to the pickup 8 by lowering it. Next the device, moving the tool cassette 5 distant from a part below the pickup 8 while a post 9 to the part below the pickup 8, places the tool 6, held by the pickup 8, on the post 9. And next the device, moving the post 9 to a past below a spindle 7, mounts the tool 6 to the spindle 7. Here the device, when it replaces the tool 6 mounted to the spindle 7, places the tool 6, mounted to the spindle 7, in the post 9 with the next tool left as placed in a post 10 by the pickup 8, mounting the next tool 6 to the spindle 7. |
