PURPOSE:To process smoothly and surely photometry while many kinds of measuring elements exist mixedly by detecting the information held in the measuring elements and controlling the conveyance of the measuring elements. CONSTITUTION:A disk 5 is rotated and stopped at every installation angle of engaging grooves 10 and the elements 11 are successively inserted through an insertion port 27, then the code designations on the surface of the inserted elements 11 are read by a means 16 for reading items. An inspection item is then checked and the address of the groove 10 of the disk 5 into which the element 11 for said item is inserted is read by a means 18 for reading the address code and is stored into a storage device. Then the operator dispenses the sample to be analyzed through a dispensing port and assigns the item for analysis by operating a control panel, then the prescribed element 11 is stopped atop a photometric head 36 in a photometric part according to the assignment and the photometry is started.
