PURPOSE:To prevent a tool unsuitable for use of machining from remaining for ever in a tool magazine, by preferentially returning the tool, which comes to be unsuitable for use due to breakage, to a supplementary tool magazine from the tool magazine. CONSTITUTION:A machine tool, providing a tool magazine 7 storing a plurality of tools further separately a supplementary tool magazine 20 storing tools, performs machining while exchanging the tool between the supplementary magazine 20 and the tool magazine 7. Here the machine tool, when it returns a tool 13 to the supplementary tool magazine 20 from the tool magazine 7, preferentially returns the tool 13 coming to be unsuitable for use of machining due to breakage or the like. Further the machine tool, unless it provides the tool unsuitable for use of machining, extracts the tool 13 not used for machining thereafter by previously reading a machining program. In this way, the extracted tool 13 is returned to the supplementary tool magazine 20 from the tool magazine 7. |
