Sealing compsns. suitable for sealing closures of containers, such as the ends of cans or tins, are made by (a) grinding a solid polymer of rubbery type to form particles; (b) reacting a polymeric anionic stabiliser with ammonia or a volatile amine in aq. soln. at 0-75 deg. C, to form an aq. soln. of the stabiliser salt; and (c) covering the solid rubbery particles with a film of the stabiliser salt by incprorating together the aq. soln. of stabiliser salt, the rubbery particles and a filler which includes glass beads.
