The bogie comprises a pair of saddles fixed to respective transverse beams at the adjoining ends of two adjacent rail-cars. Each saddle is pivotally connected to an associated base plate, that carries the bearings of a corresponding pair of flanged wheels. - The two base plates have inter-meshing male and female edge portions, which may be provided with wear strips. The edge portions co-ordinate the movements of the base plates w.r.t. each other when the assembly travels along a curved track section. The rails cars may be of the bottom-discharge hopper type.
