PURPOSE:To permit the electric spark machining with high precision and high efficiency at a low cost by covering the surface of an electric conductive core- wire with Se, Te, or the alloy thereof to a thin thickness. CONSTITUTION:The electric conductive core-wire such as Cu or Cu-alloy wire, steel wire, copper-covered steel wire, stainless-steel wire, etc. is applied with Se, Te, or the alloy thereof to a thickness of at least 0.05mu through electroplating, chemical plating, hot-dip method, vapor depositing, gas-phase reaction method, etc. Since this kind of covering material is volatile and has a relatively large electric resistance, said material can be dispersed uniformly in spark erosion, and the electric-discharge state advantageous for the spark erosion working efficiency can be formed. |
